Chocolate-Banana Spring Rolls
Cooked spring rolls resemble gold bars, and for this reason, they signify wealth and prosperity in Chinese tradition.
Ingredients:
Directions:
1) Peel bananas; slice each in half lengthwise and halve each piece crosswise. Set aside.
2) Working with 1 wrapper at a time, keep remaining roll package covered with a damp towel. Lightly brush each wrapper with beaten egg; place one banana piece in the middle. Top with 2 tablespoons chocolate chips. Roll up like a burrito; set aside and repeat with remaining ingredients.
3) Place enough oil in a wok to fill 2 inches deep; heat over high heat. Add prepared rolls to hot oil; cook 3 minutes, turning once. Drain on paper towels; repeat until all rolls are fried.
4) Dust warm rolls with powdered sugar and serve.
