Filipino Chocolate Rice Pudding

Champorado, a sweet chocolate rice porridge, is a Filipino dessert that makes a great alternative to their usual rice meals.



1) Combine water, rice, and salt in a small saucepan; bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce to a simmer and cook, partially covered, until rice is very soft, about 30 to 45 minutes. Add remaining ingredients to rice; mix well. Simmer until liquid is mostly absorbed and pudding is creamy, about 10 minutes, stirring. Serve warm or chilled.
